In the city of Fortaleza, a four-story apartment building suddenly collapsed. Its inhabitants managed to run out, having heard a suspicious crash.

A few days before the accident, on May 24 and 26, the house was examined by municipal services. The first check did not find anything suspicious, although local residents complained about cracks in the supporting columns. After the second check, minor structural violations were identified and a recommendation was made to hire an engineer for a detailed risk assessment.

Last Saturday, June 1, the building was tilted, and then the first floor was completely formed - the supporting columns did not survive. People in a panic ran out a few minutes before the collapse, hearing a loud crash.

A day later, rescuers pulled a cage with two parrots and a dog out of the rubble. The dog and the birds survived and returned to their owners.

Earlier, 16 families lived in the house, now they spend the night with their relatives and friends.
