Two vehicles fell into a river after Dongjiang Bridge collapsed on Friday morning (June 14) in southern Chinas Heyuan City.

Shocking CCTV footage, filmed at 02:12 am local time, shows the middle section of the bridge suddenly collapsing as two cars drive over.

Another clip shows rescuers reaching the site by boats.

According to reports, a 44-year-old driver was rescued and sent to hospital. However, a passenger in the same car and the people in the other Toyota SUV are still missing.

The case is being investigated, reports said.
