1 A wąż1 był bardziej przebiegły niż wszystkie zwierzęta lądowe, które Pan Bóg stworzył. On to rzekł do niewiasty: «Czy rzeczywiście Bóg powiedział: Nie jedzcie owoców ze wszystkich drzew tego ogrodu?» 2 Niewiasta odpowiedziała wężowi: «Owoce z drzew tego ogrodu jeść możemy, 3 tylko o owocach z drzewa, które jest w środku ogrodu, Bóg powiedział: Nie wolno wam jeść z niego, a nawet go dotykać, abyście nie pomarli». 4 Wtedy rzekł wąż do niewiasty: «Na pewno nie umrzecie! 5 Ale wie Bóg, że gdy spożyjecie owoc z tego drzewa, otworzą się wam oczy i tak jak Bóg będziecie znali dobro i zło».
6 Wtedy niewiasta spostrzegła, że drzewo to ma owoce dobre do jedzenia, że jest ono rozkoszą dla oczu i że owoce tego drzewa nadają się do zdobycia wiedzy. Zerwała zatem z niego owoc, skosztowała i dała swemu mężowi, który był z nią: a on zjadł. 7 A wtedy otworzyły się im obojgu oczy i poznali, że są nadzy; spletli więc gałązki figowe i zrobili sobie przepaski.
8 Gdy zaś mężczyzna i jego żona usłyszeli kroki Pana Boga przechadzającego się po ogrodzie, w porze kiedy był powiew wiatru, skryli się przed Panem Bogiem wśród drzew ogrodu. 9 Pan Bóg zawołał na mężczyznę i zapytał go: «Gdzie jesteś?» 10 On odpowiedział: «Usłyszałem Twój głos w ogrodzie, przestraszyłem się, bo jestem nagi, i ukryłem się». 11 Rzekł Bóg: «Któż ci powiedział, że jesteś nagi? Czy może zjadłeś z drzewa, z którego ci zakazałem jeść?» 12 Mężczyzna odpowiedział: «Niewiasta, którą postawiłeś przy mnie, dała mi owoc z tego drzewa i zjadłem». 13 Wtedy Pan Bóg rzekł do niewiasty: «Dlaczego to uczyniłaś?» Niewiasta odpowiedziała: «Wąż mnie zwiódł i zjadłam». 14 Wtedy Pan Bóg rzekł do węża:
«Ponieważ to uczyniłeś,
bądź przeklęty wśród wszystkich zwierząt domowych i polnych;
na brzuchu będziesz się czołgał i proch będziesz jadł po wszystkie dni twego istnienia.
15 Wprowadzam nieprzyjaźń między ciebie i niewiastę,
pomiędzy potomstwo twoje a potomstwo jej:
ono zmiażdży2 ci głowę,
a ty zmiażdżysz2 mu piętę».
16 Do niewiasty powiedział: «Obarczę cię niezmiernie wielkim trudem twej brzemienności, w bólu będziesz rodziła dzieci, ku twemu mężowi będziesz kierowała swe pragnienia, on zaś będzie panował nad tobą».
17 Do mężczyzny zaś [Bóg] rzekł: «Ponieważ posłuchałeś swej żony i zjadłeś z drzewa, co do którego dałem ci rozkaz w słowach: Nie będziesz z niego jeść -
przeklęta3 niech będzie ziemia z twego powodu:
w trudzie będziesz zdobywał od niej pożywienie dla siebie
po wszystkie dni twego życia.
18 Cierń i oset będzie ci ona rodziła,
a przecież pokarmem twym są płody roli.
19 W pocie więc oblicza twego
będziesz musiał zdobywać pożywienie,
póki nie wrócisz do ziemi,
z której zostałeś wzięty;
bo prochem jesteś
i w proch się obrócisz!»4
20 Mężczyzna dał swej żonie imię Ewa5, bo ona stała się matką wszystkich żyjących.
21 Pan Bóg sporządził dla mężczyzny i dla jego żony odzienie ze skór i przyodział ich. 22 Po czym Pan Bóg rzekł: «Oto człowiek stał się taki jak My: zna dobro i zło; niechaj teraz nie wyciągnie przypadkiem ręki, aby zerwać owoc także z drzewa życia, zjeść go i żyć na wieki»6. 23 Dlatego Pan Bóg wydalił go z ogrodu Eden, aby uprawiał tę ziemię, z której został wzięty. 24 Wygnawszy zaś człowieka, Bóg postawił przed ogrodem Eden cherubów i połyskujące ostrze miecza, aby strzec drogi do drzewa życia7.


Kiedy obrona własna jest uzasadniona?

obrona własna jest uzasadniona. Ludzie mają prawo bronić siebie i swych bliskich przed napaścią i utratą życia. Gdy ucieczka jest niemożliwa, Biblia nie zabrania wystąpienia w obronie własnej. Nie zmienia to jednak faktu, że najlepiej byłoby unikać sytuacji, w których może dojść do przemocy (Przysłów 16:32).

W obliczu zagrożenia

Dążenie do pokoju nie gwarantuje ochrony przed napaścią. W dawnych czasach wierni czciciele Boga również padali ofiarą przemocy (Rodzaju 4:8; Hioba 1:14, 15, 17). Co może zrobić ktoś zaatakowany przez uzbrojonego przestępcę? Jezus radził: Nie stawiajcie oporu niegodziwemu (Mateusza 5:39). Powiedział też: Temu, kto zabiera twoją szatę wierzchnią, nie odmawiaj nawet szaty spodniej (Łukasza 6:29). Jezus nie pochwalał użycia broni w celu ochrony swojej własności. Mądry człowiek, zaatakowany przez uzbrojonego złodzieja, nie będzie odmawiał oddania mu wartościowych rzeczy. Z całą pewnością życie jest cenniejsze!

Co jednak zrobić, gdy bezpośrednio zagrożone jest nasze życie? Nieco światła na tę sprawę rzuca pewne prawo nadane przez Boga starożytnemu Izraelowi. Stanowiło ono, że gdyby złodziej został za dnia przyłapany na gorącym uczynku i uśmiercony, zabójca byłby oskarżony o morderstwo. Złodziej mógł przecież zostać rozpoznany i sprawiedliwie ukarany, a za kradzież nie była przewidziana kara śmierci. Gdyby jednak włamywacz został zabity w nocy, gospodarz mógł zostać oczyszczony z zarzutów, ponieważ w ciemnościach trudno się zorientować, co robi intruz i jakie ma zamiary. Gospodarz mógł dojść do wniosku, że jego rodzina jest w niebezpieczeństwie, i podjąć określone działania w jej obronie (Wyjścia 22:2, 3).

A zatem jak wynika z Biblii, można w razie napaści fizycznej bronić siebie lub swej rodziny. Zaatakowany ma prawo odparowywać ciosy napastnika, a nawet go uderzyć, by go ogłuszyć lub obezwładnić. Celem będzie wówczas powstrzymanie ataku. Jeśli w takiej sytuacji przestępca zostanie poważnie zraniony lub zabity, jego śmierć będzie nieumyślna, a nie zamierzona.

Najlepsza ochrona

Jak więc widać, niekiedy obrona własna jest uzasadniona. Ludzie mają prawo bronić siebie i swych bliskich przed napaścią i utratą życia. Gdy ucieczka jest niemożliwa, Biblia nie zabrania wystąpienia w obronie własnej. Nie zmienia to jednak faktu, że najlepiej byłoby unikać sytuacji, w których może dojść do przemocy (Przysłów 16:32).

Biblia zachęca nas, byśmy we wszystkich sprawach i okolicznościach szukali pokoju i do niego dążyli (1 Piotra 3:11). Ta praktyczna zasada naprawdę przyczynia się do spokojnego życia.

1 Jeśli się udasz na wojnę przeciw twemu wrogowi, a zauważysz, że koni, rydwanów i ludzi tam jest więcej niż u ciebie, nie lękaj się ich, gdyż z tobą jest Pan, Bóg twój, który cię wywiódł z ziemi egipskiej1. 2 Gdy będziecie zaczynali walkę, wystąpi kapłan i przemówi do narodu, 3 mówiąc mu: «Słuchaj, Izraelu! Zaczynacie dzisiaj walkę przeciw wrogom waszym, niech trwoga przed nimi was nie ogarnia! Niech serce wam nie drży! Nie bójcie się, nie lękajcie się! 4 Gdyż z wami wyrusza Pan, Bóg wasz, by walczyć przeciw wrogom waszym i dać wam zwycięstwo».
5 2 Zwierzchnicy niech powiedzą następnie narodowi: «Kto z was zbudował nowy dom, a jeszcze go nie poświęcił, niech idzie i wraca do swego domu, bo mógłby zginąć na wojnie, i kto inny by go poświęcił.
6 Kto z was zasadził winnicę, a nie zebrał jej owoców, niech wraca do domu, bo mógłby zginąć na wojnie, a kto inny by zebrał jej owoce. 7 Kto żonę poślubił, a jeszcze jej nie sprowadził do siebie, niech wraca do domu, bo mógłby zginąć na wojnie, a kto inny by ją sprowadził do siebie».
8 Niech jeszcze zwierzchnicy powiedzą do narodu: «Kto się lęka, czyje serce drży, niech wraca do domu, by nie struchlało serce jego braci, jak jego».
9 Gdy zwierzchnicy skończą mówić do ludu, na czele narodu staną wodzowie.

Uwagę zwraca dopracowana w każdym szczególe oprawa wizualna, której efektowność widać przede wszystkim w wirtualnym otoczeniu. To ostatnie może ulec zniszczeniu w bardzo dużym stopniu, co nadaje zabawie realizmu. Grafikę napędza autorski silnik Masstech. Gracze konsolowi otrzymali ponadto przemodelowany względem PeCetów interfejs użytkownika. Dzięki temu wszystkie komendy wydaje się przy pomocy pada równie efektywnie, jakby to miało miejsce w układzie klawiatura-mysz. Całości dopełnia interesująca opcja multiplayer, pozwalająca graczom na konfrontację lub kooperację w ramach trzech trybów: Domination, Thug-of-War oraz Assault.

So she took the fruit from it, and ate it, and gave it to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7 And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; So they sewed fig leaves together and made aprons for themselves.

18 She will produce thorns and thistles for you,
yet your food is the produce of the field.
19 Therefore by the sweat of thy face
you will have to get food,
until you return to earth
from which you were taken;
for you are dust

20 The man named his wife Eve, because she became the mother of all the living.
21 The Lord God made a garment of skins for the man and his wife and clothed them. 22 Then the Lord God said, Behold, man has become like Us: he knows good and evil; let him not now stretch out his hand to take the fruit also from the tree of life, and eat it, and live forever»6. 23 Therefore the Lord God expelled him from the garden of Eden to till the land from which he had been taken. 24 And when man had been driven out, God placed cherubim and the glittering edge of the sword in front of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life.

When is self-defense justified?

self-defense is justified. People have the right to defend themselves and their loved ones from attack and loss of life. When escape is impossible, the Bible does not prohibit self-defence. However, this does not change the fact that it would be best to avoid situations where violence could occur.Proverbs 16:32.

In the face of danger

The pursuit of peace does not guarantee protection from assault. In ancient times, faithful worshipers of God were also victims of violence.Genesis 4:8; Job 1:14, 15, 17. What can someone who is attacked by an armed criminal do? Jesus counseled: Do not resist the wicked one.Matthew 5:39. He also said, Whoever takes your outer garment, do not withhold even your inner garment (Luke 6:29). Jesus disapproved of the use of guns to protect ones property. A wise man attacked by an armed thief will not refuse to give him valuables. Surely life is more precious!

But what to do when our lives are in immediate danger? A law given by God to ancient Israel throws some light on this matter. It stated that if a thief were caught red-handed during the day and put to death, the killer would be charged with murder. After all, a thief could be recognized and punished justly, and the death penalty was not provided for theft. However, if the burglar were killed in the night, the host could be exonerated, because in the dark it is difficult to see what the intruder is doing and what his intentions are. A householder may have concluded that his family is in danger and taken action to protect them.Exodus 22:2, 3.

Thus, the Bible shows that one can defend oneself or ones family in the event of physical assault. The attacked has the right to parry the attackers blows, and even hit him to stun or incapacitate him. The goal will then be to stop the attack. If the offender is seriously injured or killed in such a situation, his death will be unintentional, not intentional.

The best protection

As you can see, sometimes self-defence is justified. People have the right to defend themselves and their loved ones from attack and loss of life. The Bible encourages us to seek peace and pursue it in all things and circumstances.1 Peter 3:11. This rule of thumb really contributes to a peaceful life.

Under command we have infantry, trucks, tanks, helicopters and even a nuclear arsenal. Our tasks are limited to capturing and holding key points or assaults on designated targets. The lack of a base development model adds dynamics - we receive reinforcements for points collected during the mission. Attention is drawn to the visuals, refined in every detail, the effectiveness of which can be seen primarily in the virtual environment. The latter can be destroyed to a large extent, which gives the game realism. The graphics are driven by the proprietary Masstech engine. Console players also received a remodeled user interface in relation to PeCets. Thanks to this, all commands are issued with the pad as effectively as if it were in the keyboard-mouse system. The whole is complemented by an interesting multiplayer option, allowing players to confront or cooperate in three modes: Domination, Thug-of-War and Assault.
