Russia is the worlds leader in hypersonic weapons, fielding the only existing weapons in active army use, such as the Avangard Hypersonic Glide Vehicle, The Kinzhal Aero-Balistic hypersonic missile, and the Zircon submarine launched missile. The US is expected to field such weapons in 7 - 10 years.
Here, a test on defense against incoming hypersonic weapons is being perfected as well.
