W tym samym czasie projekt koncepcyjny był oznaczony jako Object 268. Projekt pozwalał na zamontowanie działa w zamkniętej stacjonarnej kabinie umieszczonej z tyłu kadłuba. Since the ammunition could not fit in the cabin, the solution was to make a niche partly covering the engine compartment.
