Thanks everyone for watching my drum lesson. I believe that it will help many of you in developing your double bass drumming. Below you'll find the link to the score containing the exercises which I'm presenting in this lesson.

Start practicing at slow speeds and gradually raise the tempo when you feel you've mastered the pattern at any given speed. You can also do the exercises without a drum set (e.g., on the bus or during breaks at school or work). I guarantee you that by learning these exercises you'll build up your creative drumming. If you want to extend the challenge even further - start each exercise with your left foot instead of your right.

Podéis empezar a un ritmo lento. Y una vez que lo domináis, podéis ir aumentando la velocidad. También podéis practicar el ejercicio sin batería, por ejemplo en el bus, en la universidad o en un descanso en el trabajo.
Os aseguro que con estos ejercicios mejorará vuestra creatividad para tocar la batería. Si estáis buscando desafíos, podéis practicar los ejercicios presentados comenzando con el pie izquierdo en vez del derecho.

Filming this playthrough was a challenge for me.
Most of work I made by myself - it wasn't easy, because I was alone. But at least the venture was a success.

![Mateusz Gawron - Ged drum playthrough from Plethora's album Age of Changes
[ENG] Inventing the drums for the Ged song was quite a long process. Drum parts are like the song itself - aggressive, but also rich and colorful. The drum from the chorus does not seem at first glance difficult, but it is. Idea of double bass rhytmic solution I took from my drum lesson “Double Bass Drumming Exercises”.
Drums in guitar solo are very unusual, because it contains irregularity and is mainly based only on the snare, toms and double bass. This chaotic pounding is supposed to be a reflection of the fight that Ged had with his alter ego.
[PL] Wymyślenie bębnów do utworu Ged było dość długim procesem. Są takie jak sam utwór - agresywne, ale także bogate i barwne. Perkusja z refrenu nie wydaje się na pierwszy rzut oka trudna, ale jest. Motyw "przesuwającej się" stopy zaczerpnąłem z mojej lekcji perkusyjnej Double Bass Drumming Exercises.
Perkusja pod solo jest bardzo nietypowa, ponieważ zawiera w sobie arytmiczność i głównie opiera się na werblu, tomach i podwójnej stopie. Ten chaotyczny "łomot" ma być odbiciem walki, jaką toczył Ged ze swoim alter ego.

[ENG] The Sparrowhawk is the first part of a of the triptych telling about the men's transformation and maturation, based on the prose of Ursula LeGuin - The Wizard of Earthsea.
When I composed my rhythm parts, I tried to add color to guitars (but not exactly go hand in hand with them), and also embellish the whole song, add it more energy and percussive "something more" than the heavy metal listener expects.
[PL] The Sparrowhawk jest pierwszą częścią tryptyku opowiadającego o przemianie i dojrzewaniu, opartą na prozie Ursuli LeGuin - Czarnoksiężniku z Archipelagu.
Moim rytmem starałem się dodać kolorytu gitarom (ale nie do końca iść z nimi w parze), a zarazem ubarwić cały utwór, dodać mu energii i perkusyjnego "czegoś więcej" niż słuchacz spodziewa się po metalowym utworze.

[ENG] At first I wanted to write more about the Triptych of A Wizard of Earthsea. The construction of the Triptych about Ged is... a sinusoid.
The Sparrowhawk opening theme is also in the middle of The Shadow and at the end of the Ged song. The Sparrowhawk is at 200 bpm, The Shadow at 180 bpm, and Ged - again at 200 bpm.
In addition, The Shadow has two quiet guitar motives - at the begining there is a guitar solo called Roke and at the end - guitar theme called Gebbeth.
The Shadow drum part was a challenge for me - guitar riffs during the stanza require a boost by bass drum, but I did not want to end up with such an obvious solution. That's why I came up with the idea of joining strikes on the floor tom. This makes the whole sound more powerful.
When it comes to the chorus of the song - I was trying to make it light and I wanted to emphasize the rhythm of the melodic guitar. The solo underlay has a rocky, growing character. In the third verse, I decided to use crash to my cymbals and stop them exactly with the guitar riffs rhytm. It gives interesting sound.
I hope you like these solutions and thanks to them the whole song has become more interesting.
[PL] Na początku chciałem napisać coś więcej o Tryptyku o Czarnoksiężniku z Archipelagu. Budowa tryptyku o Gedzie ma charakter... sinusoidy.
Motyw otwierający The Sparrowhawk znajduje się także w środku The Shadow oraz na końcu utworu Ged. The Sparrowhawk jest w tempie 200 bpm, The Shadow w 180 bpm, zaś Ged - ponownie w 200 bpm. Ponadto The Shadow posiada dwa spokojne motywy gitarowe - zaczyna się solo gitarowym o nazwie Roke oraz kończy motywem gitarowym o nazwie Gebbeth.
Jeśli chodzi o bębny do The Shadow to stało przede mną pewne wyzwanie - gitarowe riffy podczas zwrotki wymagają podbicia stopą, ale nie chciałem poprzestać na tak oczywistym rozwiązaniu. Dlatego wpadłem na pomysł dołączenia uderzeń na najniższym tomie. Dzięki temu całość brzmi bardziej potężnie. Refren utworu starałem się uczynić lekkim, ponadto zależało mi, aby uwypuklić rytmikę gitary melodycznej. Podkład pod solo ma rockowy, narastający charakter. Z kolei w trzeciej zwrotce postanowiłem wykorzystać podbicie riffów za pomocą talerzy, co dało ciekawy efekt.
Mam nadzieję, że podobają Wam się te rozwiązania i dzięki nim całość nabrała ciekawszego charakteru.

![[ENG] By creating this video I wanted to pay tribute to one of my favorite musicians - Gordon Matthew Sumner aka Sting.
The drums for this song is simple, but the purpose of this production was not to concentrate on the rhythm, but to show the beauty and colors of nature. I believe Sting was walking the fields of barley like those on my video, so he wrote this wonderful song that went through the history of music.
