![I Like It is a 1982 R&B/Soul song by American family band DeBarge. Released on August 20, 1982 by Motown Records (Gordy), It was the second single from their second studio album, All This Love.
Overview
Recording
After releasing their poorly-received self-titled album, the group quickly returned to the studio to record their second album. Choosing to add younger brother James and shortening their name to simply DeBarge, the group returned to Motowns recording studios determined to produce a hit.
The song was musically composed by El DeBarge, who also produced the track with Iris Gordy, with lyrics provided by Randy, El and sister Bunny, who composed the much-copied bridge. While being interviewed for the TV documentary, Unsung, in 2008, co-producer Iris Gordy told El to sing the final ad-libs I like it, I like it, in a higher register. El responded by telling Iris that she was trying to make sound like [his brother] Bobby, to which Iris returned with, you better thank your lucky stars if you sound even close to Bobby.[1]
According to Randy, who was also interviewed for the show, while he wrote lyrics to and sang lead on the songs verses, while Bunny wrote the bridge, which El sung, while Bunny said El was the producer, he brought it all home. El composed the musical track and played piano. It also featured a sing-along type unified harmony which was arranged by El.
Reception
I Like It was released in August 1982 and became the bands first huge hit, peaking at number two on the R&B singles chart while crossing over to the pop singles chart, where it peaked at number 31[2] helping to make their All This Love album go gold.
It has remained a covered and sampled track in R&B and hip-hop music since its release with some of its lyrics and melodies interpolated or recalled in other songs. The El-sung bridge, I like the way you comb your hair/and I like the stylish clothes you wear/its just the little things you do/that shows how much you really care, has been often repeated.

Try Me, I Know We Can Make It is a song by American singer and songwriter Donna Summer from her third studio album A Love Trilogy album released in 1976. Summers breakthrough had come in the form of the disco song Love to Love You Baby which in its entirety lasted almost seventeen minutes and took up the entire first side of the album of the same name. Due to its success (and also its success as a 12 maxi single) the format was repeated with the next album and with this song. In fact, Try Me, I Know We Can Make It actually lasted even longer than Love To Love You Baby, clocking in at eighteen minutes. Edited versions were also released on the 7 single format.
The song peaked at number eighty on the American pop chart and number thirty-five on the soul chart.[1] It was more popular with disco audiences, however, becoming Summers second number one single on the dance chart in May 1976 and remaining atop that chart for three weeks.[2] The song also peak #6 in Spain singles charts and #22 in Spain Radio chart.[3]

The track also features the famed Philadelphia session vocalists, The Sweethearts of Sigma Sound. The song was introduced on the album France Joli, which was released in the US on 17 April 1979 on Prelude, and rose to #26. ![From Here to Eternity is a song by Italian singer, songwriter, and producer Giorgio Moroder, released in 1977 as a single from an album of the same name.
Song information
The song was written by Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte, and produced by Moroder. The song is performed entirely on electronic keyboards and showcases the synthesized futuristic sound which Moroder also explored on Donna Summers I Remember Yesterday (most notably the single I Feel Love) and Once Upon a Time, both released in 1977.
On most editions of the single, Utopia - Me Giorgio was released as the B-side. Upon its original release, the single received a 5-star review in Blues & Soul magazine.[1] In a retrospective AllMusic review, John Bush marked the song as one of the highlights on its parent album.[2]
From Here to Eternity was featured in the 1978 movie Thank God Its Friday, but not included on the soundtrack album.
Two re-recordings of the song were made for the 2000 various artists compilation DJ Empire Presents: A Tribute to Giorgio Moroder. First was the remix by Danny Tenaglia, released as the single in various formats, which was a club chart hit in the US. The other version was produced by American musician Eric D. Clark, with French singer Amanda Lear on vocals, credited to Giorgio Moroder vs. Eric D. Clark feat. Amanda Lear. A short version of the Tox N Stone remix also appeared on Lears hits compilation Forever Glam! in 2005.
From Here to Eternity, along with other tracks from the same album, was featured in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2005) on fictional radio station Flashback FM.[3]

Golden Boy is a 1939 drama romance film based on the Clifford Odets play of the same name. Directed by Rouben Mamoulian, The film stars Barbara Stanwyck, Adolphe Menjou and William Holden.
Production
Golden Boy features William Holden in his film debut, the role that made him a star: a promising violinist who wants to be a boxer. Barbara Stanwyck plays his love interest. The supporting cast includes Lee J. Cobb in an unusual role as the bewhiskered Italian immigrant father of Holdens character.
The producers were initially unhappy with Holdens work and tried to dismiss him, but Stanwyck insisted that he be retained. Thirty-nine years later, when Holden and Stanwyck were joint presenters at the 1978 Academy Awards, he interrupted their reading of a nominee list to publicly thank her for saving his career.
